Rotation Schedule
- Monday to Friday:
- Time: Hospital rounds from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM (ICU, CCU, step-down units, and general medical floor)
- Saturdays/Sundays:
- Required for 2 weekends during the rotation, with times subject to change based on the attending physician’s schedule
- Outpatient Clinics:
- 1-2 times per week for approximately 4 hours
- Didactics & Grand Rounds:
- Students may be required to attend educational sessions as scheduled by the attending physician
Learning Opportunities
- Critical Care & Pulmonary Medicine Exposure:
- Manage critically ill patients in ICU, CCU, and step-down units, including those on ventilators
- Ventilator Management:
- Learn and practice managing patients on mechanical ventilation
- Acid-Base & Electrolyte Management:
- Experience managing complex electrolyte and acid-base disorders
- Hands-On Patient Care:
- Interact with a wide range of pulmonary and critically ill patients, including history taking, physical examinations, lab assessments, and treatment planning under supervision
- Differential Diagnosis & Treatment Planning:
- Formulate and execute differential diagnoses and treatment plans for complex pulmonary and critical care cases
- Discharge Planning:
- Participate in discharge planning and execution
- Didactic Learning:
- Attend lectures and grand rounds to enhance knowledge of pulmonary and critical care medicine
- Exposure to US Healthcare System:
- Learn practical aspects of the US healthcare system under the guidance of an experienced attending physician

- No rescheduling fee if done one month in advance
- Cancellations:
- 50% refund for cancellations made 4+ weeks before the start date
- No refunds for cancellations within 4 weeks of the start date
