12-Week Meta-Analysis Research Module

Meta-analyses represent the highest level of evidence in medical literature—and now, you can be part of one. This 12-week intensive module is designed for medical students and graduates who want to gain advanced skills in evidence synthesis, statistical interpretation, and scientific writing.

What to Expect
• Expert Mentorship in Evidence Synthesis:
You’ll work closely with mentors who specialize in meta-analyses, biostatistics, and evidence-based medicine. Each cohort includes ~10 mentees, creating a focused environment for collaborative learning and one-on-one guidance.
• Weekly Interactive Sessions: Live sessions are held weekly on Microsoft Teams. Timings are arranged based on mentee availability across time zones.

Curriculum Highlights

This 12-week module offers a comprehensive journey into the methodology and statistical components of a full-scale meta-analysis:
• Crafting a precise, clinically relevant research question
• Developing a protocol and following PRISMA guidelines
• Performing advanced literature searches and screening
• Extracting and coding quantitative data
• Assessing heterogeneity and methodological quality of included studies
• Using tools like RevMan, R, or STATA for statistical analysis
• Interpreting forest plots, funnel plots, and addressing publication bias
• Structuring and writing a manuscript suitable for submission to indexed journals

Weekly Tasks & Authorship

Each week, you’ll apply what you’ve learned through structured assignments that contribute directly to the group’s research output. You’ll work collaboratively on data extraction, analysis, and manuscript development.

Final authorship will be based on transparency, participation, and contribution throughout the module—ensuring that every effort is fairly recognized.
