Illinois Chicago Neurology Hospital-Based Rotation Overview

Location: Chicago, Illinois
Duration: 4 Weeks
LOR: Performance-based, provided on Hospital letterhead by the Chairman of Neurology
Rotation Type: In-Patient, Hands-On
Affiliation: Rosalind Franklin University, Rush University Hospital, and Medical Center

Rotation Schedule

Monday to Friday: Inpatient rounds at Hospital from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Saturdays/Sundays: 2 weekends per month
Outpatient Clinics: 1-2 times per week, approximately 4 hours each session
Additional Activities: Attendance at didactics, lectures, and grand rounds

Learning Opportunities

  • Participate in hospital inpatient rounds and hands-on clinical experience with the Chief of Neurology.
  • Exposure to Sleep and EMG/EEG Labs.
  • Interact with attending physicians to manage diverse patients and conditions.
  • Develop skills in history taking, physical examination, differential diagnosis, and treatment planning under supervision.
  • Understand the U.S. Healthcare system and interact with a diverse patient population.

  • Hands-on clinical experience in a renowned hospital affiliated with Rush University Medical Center.

Requirements & Documents

  • MMR
  • PPD (within 6 months)
  • Proof of Covid Vaccine
  • Immunization Records
  • Medical School transcript/ID
  • Resume
  • Casual Business Attire or Scrubs/Lab Coat for the hospital and clinics.
  • Malpractice Insurance (included)

Payment Policy

  • Full payment is due 6 weeks before the rotation start date.
  • Payment can be made in full or with a deposit at the start of the rotation.

Refunds:

  • 50% refund for cancellations made 4+ weeks before the start date.
  • No refunds for cancellations within 4 weeks of the start date.
