Rotation Schedule

Start Time: Varies per day
Monday to Friday:

  • Participate in daily surgeries in the OR and observe bedside procedures like central line insertion.
  • Perform pre-op preparation and patient evaluations on the floor.
  • Attend Surgery seminars, Morbidity and Mortality conferences.

Outpatient Clinics:

  • 1-2 times per week for about 4 hours.

Additional Activities:

  • Students may also attend didactics, lectures, and grand rounds.

Learning Opportunities

  • Hands-On Clinical Experience: Work closely with the Chief of Surgery and other attending physicians in a variety of surgical cases.
  • Comprehensive Patient Interaction: Perform detailed history taking, physical examinations, and develop treatment plans under supervision.
  • Daily Patient Care: Follow up on all patients and participate in discharge planning.
  • Surgical Exposure: Gain exposure to various surgeries and procedures performed in the OR.
  • Morbidity and Mortality Conferences: Participate and learn from real-life clinical discussions.

  • Professional Attire: Casual business attire or scrubs/lab coat for the hospital and clinics.

Payment Policy

  • Full payment due 6 weeks before the start date.

Cancellation Policy:

  • 50% refund if canceled more than 4 weeks before the start date.
  • No refunds within 4 weeks of the start date.
