Rotation Details
Duration: 4 Weeks
Rotation Schedule
Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (varies by attending schedule)
Outpatient Exposure
Observe and assist in outpatient neurosurgery consultations.
Participate in pre-operative and post-operative evaluations.
Exposure to diagnostic imaging and treatment planning sessions.
Opportunities for history taking, vitals, and EMR exposure.
Surgical Experience
OR days begin around 7:00 AM at affiliated hospitals.
Observe complex spine surgeries, brain tumor resections, and minimally invasive techniques.
Gain exposure to intraoperative decision-making and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Academic & Mentorship
Participate in case-based discussions and treatment planning with neurosurgeons.
Sunday virtual research meetings (5:00 PM PST).
Sunday evening virtual surgery case meetings (8:00 PM PST).
Occasional evening physician dinners for networking.
Weekend Opportunities
Optional Saturdays: Observe or assist at student-run clinics (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM).
Optional cadaver labs or structured clinics (depending on scheduling).
Payment Policy
