Rotation Schedule
Start Time: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST
Morning
• Pre-rounding: Review pediatric patient charts, lab results, and prepare case notes
• Clinical Encounters: Take history from parents/guardians, perform age-appropriate physical exams
• Case Presentations: Present patient history, physical findings, assessment, and plan to the attending

Midday – Afternoon
• Inpatient Rounds: Participate in daily rounds with the pediatric care team
• Outpatient Clinic Visits: See patients in general pediatrics and subspecialty clinics
• Supervised Documentation: EMR entry and clinical note preparation
• Didactic Sessions: Case-based discussions on pediatric illnesses, growth & development, and preventive care

Additional Learning Opportunities
Newborn Care Exposure: Participate in newborn assessments and discharge planning.
Pediatric Subspecialty Clinics: Observe specialties such as cardiology, pulmonology, or neurology (based on availability).
Optional Research Component: Students may contribute to pediatric research projects (subject to availability and interest).
